Clare R.

From Lawyer at Big Tech to Founder, Lifestyle Brand

Georgetown Law ‘15

Clare had the job so many wanted – a lawyer in big tech – but had a second passion that she had spent years dreaming of. To balance out a stressful job and combat recent burnout, Clare wanted to add more creativity, energy and fun to her everyday life outside of work.

Clare had a deep passion for fashion, design and travel. Clare had watched dozens of women build businesses in this space over the past few years and was frustrated that she hadn’t done the same. She knew her next move was into this field, but didn’t know what, how or when.

We worked together to get crystal clear on what Clare wanted to do – create a lifestyle brand to inspire others to live a more visually thoughtful life. This path will give her the freedom and flexibility she craves and deploy her superpowers in personal style and research.

The most important work that we did together was to overcome Clare’s perfectionism and fear of judgment, two mental blocks she had been wrestling with for years. This allowed Clare to get more comfortable sharing online.

Today, Clare is building her Instagram presence, laying the infrastructure for her brand and working on plans to scale her brand’s reach and continue exploring her passion.

In Clare’s words:

Working with Cydnee opened my eyes to what was possible for me creatively, and fundamentally changed my relationship with myself.  Her coaching techniques effectively held me accountable to myself and the changes I wanted to make within my life; at the same time, she always demonstrated the utmost compassion for my fears and concerns, and genuine excitement around my momentum and progress.  I am energized and confident as a result of our work together, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.”
