Celebrating one year of magic
Early July marked my one-year anniversary being a full-time, self-employed entrepreneur and scaling my coaching business. 🥳
This was a milestone I never thought I’d hit, so I’ve been feeling proud and grateful.
I said “Oh, I could never own my own business. I like having a steady paycheck” more times than I can count over the course of my career.
Yet here I am.
Eventually, my intuition got louder than the resistance and I decided to go for it in late 2022.
Now on to the celebration…
As I’ve been reflecting, I’ve been thinking I could celebrate my impact (or ego) metrics (i.e., # of clients served, # of new jobs or businesses started, revenue, LinkedIn followers), but I’d much rather celebrate you all.
I had my tarot cards read in December. I asked the reader a question about my business and she responded: “You change women’s lives and the lives of their family and children.”
Whoa. That hit me hard.
It felt like a lofty ambition, but I realized it was true.
I coach clients on their careers, but I also help them get clear on who they are, what they value and cultivate a stronger sense of self. Shifts that allow them to be more calm, present and engaged with their loved ones.
I’ve had the honor of working with dozens of amazing, bad-ass women over the past year.
It has been SO INSPIRING to see them make big bets on themselves and huge changes to their careers and lives, and most importantly, how they show up in the world.
Here are a few clients I’m feeling proud of and inspired by:
(To my clients: if you don’t see yourself below, it is because I’m trying to share a wide variety of transformations. I am proud of you all!)
→ Lawyer who kicked her perfectionism to start her fashion side-hustle, which is thriving.
→ Growth equity executive who is finding time to breath, investing in herself outside of her day job and riding the highs-and-lows with more ease.
→ Start-up operator who advocated to move from Partnerships to Chief of Staff for 9 months, and just got the yes to hire her replacement.
→ Generalist + new mom who is owning her desire to work part-time for a bit, putting aside internal + societal pressure to keep hustling.
→ This same generalist has realized that she thrives in a classroom, instead of a board room, and is laying the groundwork to begin teaching.
→ Masterful relationship-builder who is making career (and life!) decisions with her heart, instead of head, for the first time.
→ Lawyer who is building conviction to leave law for strategy roles and is realizing “it is ok to be good at my job and enjoy my personal life.”
→ Development practitioner who, when applying for jobs, realized that she wanted to create her own thing and is betting on herself.
I could go on and on and on…
Aren’t these results amazing?!
Most days, I get off my calls and wish I could shout about each of these women from the roof.
What is even better is that there are dozens of other examples just like these that I don’t have space to mention.
You all inspire me every single day.
I am grateful to be partnering with you all and so proud of what you’re doing.
Here’s to year two!
